New Desk Chairs

Way back in April of 2010 my friend Amy and I both happened to be moving to the suburbs at the exact same time...and almost to the exact same place (ok, not exact but within 10 min. of each other). As Amy was trying to pack up and empty her old house she sent me the image above and asked me if I wanted these chairs, for free. I have a thing for chairs (ask my husband). I tend to feel the need to rescue every cute, old chair that I find, especially if it is a small, vintage child's chair. So I said sure thing, I'll be right over.

Well, the chairs sat around our new house in various places for 14 months but now they finally have a new look.



I dug through my stash of fabric and found JUST enough of this pattern that I have had laying around for YEARS! It was some remnant piece from Hancock Fabrics that I originally made in to a tote bag. I LOVE this fabric and I was so excited that I had enough to use on these chairs. I spray painted the chair frames a sage green to match the fabric. Their new home will be down in our lower level at our computer and sewing desk.

4th of July Weekend

Took a road trip to Artichoke Annie's Antique Mall in Columbia Missouri. Huge place with some really great stuff, I really should have taken more pictures. Also finally got to see Annie and Simon's farm. It is still very much a work in progress but it has some amazing potential. I can't wait to watch them turn it into a beautiful home over the next few years.
